Boston College defeats Maryland in the Under Armour Bowl

Boston College rushed out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter at Byrd Stadium. Weather played a role in the game and the Boston College running game was put on full display. Cold, snow, and rain limited the Boston College game plan to running primarily. Boston College running back Rolandan Finch ran the ball thirty-nine times for 243 yards and two touchdowns. Rolandan eclipsed his carrier total in yards gained from scrimmage in this contest against the Terrapins.

Boston College got off to a fast start, played well defensively, and gave up a couple of scores late in the game which ended with a final score of 28-17.

It is the first conference win for Boston College who has: Miami, Notre Dame, NC State, and Florida State remaining on the schedule. If Boston College can play well against FSU on ESPN Thursday night at Chestnut Hill and beat NC State the following week then the season will begin to move in the correct direction. There is still alot of work to do to reach the level Boston College is accustomed to but this win was big for the collective team psyche.

Who is Going to hell in a bucket?

UCONN football.

Talk about leaving the cupboard empty. Randy Edsall left UCONN with absolutely nothing. Losing to PITT by 17 at the half on national TV, with canceled World Series game tonight, is not going to get John Swofford to invite you into the ACC.

Since it always comes back to Boston College . . . the Eagles could beat UCONN and Pitt in football. Both teams are flawed. UCONN has no talent at all and the Pitt QB cannot throw in the pocket and is easy to sack.
