Final Four

Boston College did not make the NCAA or the NIT Men's basketball tournaments this year. The team will end next season with a record closer to .500. Hopefully the year after that the Eagles will be a NCAA Bubble team or an NIT team.

My NCAA final four teams are:
South Region - Kentucky. The team is loaded with talent. Their inexperience in the tournament will come into play in the final four.

West Region - Missouri. Dick Vitale always says that having good guards is an indicator of success in the tournament. Missouri has good guards, they have experience in terms of having good upperclassmen, and they played in a tough conference. Keeping their post players out of foul trouble will be important.

Midwest Region - North Carolina. The injury to Henson makes this pick difficult. I am a big fan of Kansas hoops. I am 50%/50% on this between Kansas and UNC. I went with UNC because I think even if Henson is injured that he will play 15-20 minutes per game as a defender/shot blocker. He will still have a postive impact on the games for UNC. Kansas is awesome but they have no depth in the front court after Robinson and Whitney.

East Region - Ohio State. Almost any team in this bracket can go to the final four since Fab Melo will not be playing for Syracuse. That said Syracuse could still go to the final four. I think Ohio State has a good coach, a good point guard, and is used to grinding out wins in the Big10. Grinding out wins is necessary in this tournament.

Final Game - Missouri v. North Carolina. North Carolina wins 80-76 in a sweet offensive matchup. Slight edge to Missouri guards over the North Carolina guards. Slight inside edge to North Carolina with McAddoo stepping up offensively for Henson and Zeller playing his typical game. North Carolinas experience in the big games from the coaching perspective AND players perspective gives the Tar Heels the edge.
